They are in very well-preserved overall antique condition and don't suffer fractures, chips, noticeable abrasions, deformities or repairs. They are and remain as they've always been, honest and in their original dry finish. The slightly larger plunger has naturally occurring oil and darker discoloration of the wood where it was repeatedly handled. It features a thin walled lower shell with a bulbous turned raised band. The plunder has a nicely turned and delicate knob top and this butter press features a young saling as carved inconography that would leave a stamped impression in the butter, The smaler, more blond of the two butter presses, is also early and features bundled wheat as its hand-carved graphic iconography. It also demonstrates surface discoloration from previous handling. Outstanding.
